I've got a singer...

Carlee loves the Backyardigans cartoon. Whenever she hears the song, she stops whatever she's doing. She just started "singing" along to the theme song. This may be something only a parent appreciates, but I think its so funny!

The time has come...

Carlee got her first time out! She just recently started pinching and grabbing your face really hard. She pulls hair too. And she'll keep doing it. Sometimes you can just say "No!" sternly and she whimpers b/c her feelings got hurt. Not tonight. She kept trying to pinch, grab and pull. So I decided to sit her in the first corner I saw. I sat her down and explained why she was sitting there. Surprisingly she sat there, touched the wall, played with her feet, looked at me, but never really tried to get up. I even had time to run and grab my phone to snap a picture. I had to refrain from laughing. After what seemed like a minute, I picked her up and explained we need to be nice and then she gave me a kiss. I don't know if she learned anything but its a start. I'm sure that won't be the last time out!

15 months!!!

Carlee turned 15 months on Friday the 30th. That means a visit to the doctor for her check up.

Here are her stats:

Height: 29 inches (10th-15th percentile)
Weight: 21 lbs 4 oz (25th percentile)

Because of her height, the doctor was looking at what he had down for the parents' height. I mentioned that my mother in law is 4'10". The doctor said that explains Carlee being petite. Yep, she's my little peanut!

Everything else was good. She got her shots, which is always the hardest part for me. After she woke up from her nap, I took some pictures. Her cheeks were so rosey. She got it from her mama!

Look at those cheeks!

"...can you hold on for a minute?"

"Mom, do you mind?...I'm on the phone."

Put a ring on it

After this weekend I have Beyonce's "Single Ladies" song stuck in my head. "If you like it then you should have put a ring on it...uh oh oh oh.."
Well, we were in San Diego for V's bachelorette party (her fiancee must have liked it, because he out a ring on it!)
We stayed at the Sofia Hotel. It was a nice hotel. Nothing too extravagant but it was clean and modern and we had great customer service! I'd definitely go back!

The bride to be in her embarrassing get up!

The bride with her maid of honor/ sister at dinner. We had gone to Haiku. Its just like Benihana's but Haiku was cheaper and had availability. I thought it was just as good too. Our chef was actually Japanese too. The funny thing was he spoke fluent Spanish. He spoke the majority of the time in Spanish. I missed out on his jokes. Poor non-spanish speaking me.

After dinner, we went dancing at Belo. It was fun but super crowded. With the bachelorette in a veil, everyone kept asking if she had just gotten married. (???) We kept thinking 'Yeah she just got married and is out at a club with her friends right after without her new husband.' Are they serious?

Then we ran into my sister at the same club. She happen to be in San Diego at the same time. She recommended Belo so it wasn't surprising that we ran into each other.

Overall, the weekend was a lot of fun. It was nice to go out with the girls but it was nice to come home to my baby girl too!

Too long

I haven't blogged since last year! Wow. I have a few drafts started that I could just never finish. With the holidays, work, and everyday life, I just got too busy to do a full blog entry.

Well, I'm making the time to post about my growing-ever-so-fast toddler. I'm loving this age. She's learning so many new things everyday. I love experiencing every new little thing with her. Her newest things are shaking her finger at us when she "talks". She also likes to get books and sit in my lap so I can read them to her. Carlee is also mastering the art of imitating. I was sick recently and she'd see me cover my mouth to cough, then she'd do it. Now I say "Carlee, how does mommy cough?" and she'll put her hand over her mouth and let out two quiet polite *cough* *cough*.

Here are some recent pictures...

Making a mess. That's what she's usually doing when she's quiet.

It was a nice day we just had to go to the park!
